Anthill Farms is a small, organic‑lean winery dedicated to expressing California’s cooler coastal terroirs through Pinot Noir and other Burgundian varieties. Their approach emphasizes nuanced vineyard selection, low yields, and minimal-intervention winemaking.
This bottling is 100% Pinot Noir from vineyards in Anderson Valley, planted on sandy-loam soils. Grapes are hand-harvested, 25% whole‑cluster fermented with native yeasts, punched down daily for ~3 weeks, then aged about 16 months in French oak (roughly 20% new), with light sulfur at bottling.
Fresh and elegant, the wine delivers red cherry, cranberry, rose petal, and a hint of forest floor. Medium-bodied with supple tannins, lively acidity, and a mineral-tinged finish. Ideal with grilled salmon, duck breast, or mushroom risotto.
Note: Anderson Valley is cooler and lighter than Sonoma Coast, with brighter red fruit, softer tannins, and more lifted, elegant aromatics.
