The Wendling Vineyard, the northwesternmost in Anderson Valley, features a massale selection from renowned Burgundy vineyards. Ted Lemon of Littorai brought this rugged site to prominence. Its steep, rocky slopes, southwest exposure, and Pacific proximity create a challenging terrain that produces exceptional fruit.
100% Pinot Noir. Organically farmed, hand-harvested, native yeast fermentation in small open-top tanks, with 25% whole cluster inclusion for added structure and complexity. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, unfined and unfiltered.
Notes of cranberry, red cherry, pomegranate and rhubarb fruit, with accents of forest floor, conifer and Angostura bitters. The medium-bodied palate is powerful and spicy, with silty tannins, a deep core of spicy fruit and a very long, nuanced finish.
