Heitz has maintained some of the most famous terroirs in Burgundy since 2011, but set out to make wines in Beaujolais in 2018. The cultivation of vines in Juliénas dates back more than 2000 years. The vines are grown on soils derived from siliceous volcanic rocks and shale. Armand Heitz makes permaculture and agroecology his philosophy.
100% Gamay. Biodynamic. Whole cluster fermentation, aged 8 months.
Purplish-pink color with moderate depth, very silky style, with length and good acidity. Notes of black cherry, violets, Asian spice, and wild herbs.
