Eric Rodez, an 8th-generation vintner, started his career working for the legendary Krug and has been making wines under his own label for nearly 4 decades. In 1989, after studying vineyard-centric winemaking in Alsace, he transitioned his vineyards away from synthetic and chemical treatments, toward a more organic approach.
40% Pinot Noir macerated, 30% Pinot Noir direct press, and 30% Chardonnay. Farming is organic and biodynamic. Half the blend is made with reserve wines.
Light salmon pink, delicate copper reflections, very finely sparkling mousse. Nuances of raspberries and pickled red cherries, delicate quince, some biscuit in the background. Medium body, white apple, taut and tight, fine acid structure, almost bone dry on the finish.
